Zandile Gumede is not happy with the postponement of the R430m refuse tender case

Ethekwini's former mayor and ANC regional chairperson Mam'Zandile Gumede has indicated a level of disappointment and unhappiness for the postponement of the R430m refuse collection tender case. She took to social media to release a statement in which she exhibited her unhappiness due to the  fact that the case has dragged on longer due to the consequent delays and postponements.

"In as much as we are saddened by another postponement because this has caused unnecessary prejudice and one has been subjected to the court of public opinion. I fully understand the impact of the pandemic and I hope that the prosecution will be ready when we appear in court. We need this ‘cup to pass’ so that we can be afforded an opportunity to clear our name", she wrote.

A month ago eThekwini city manager Sipho Nzuza turned into the most recent accused in the issue embroiled nearby Gumede and others in regards to a Durban Solid Waste delicate, which is affirmed to have been unpredictably granted to four organizations in 2016, soon after Gumede got down to business. The state asserted that Nzuza had acted in common purpose, conspiring with certain service providers to an over-expenditure of R100,000.

Nzuza will join a broad rundown of others, including the appointee chief director of Supply Chain, the executives at the district Sandile Ngcobo, his significant other Vuyiswa, who recently held a position at the municipality, and Durban businesspeople Mzwandile Dludla, Hlenga Sibisi and Freedom Blose.
The underlying measure of unpredictable consumption because of this tender was set at R208m. This was later changed to R389m. On Tuesday the state indeed expanded this general figure to R430m.
